More About Maple
More About Maple
Maple is a light, bright hardwood with a smooth, subtle grain that gives a clean, minimal look. It’s a good choice if you want the tabletop to feel crisp and modern, or if you’re pairing it with darker bases and want contrast.
Maple is known for being hard and resistant to everyday wear, making it practical for busy spaces. Its appearance is usually even and consistent, though some boards may show natural figuring that adds interest without being too bold. If you prefer a lighter wood that feels simple, clean, and durable, maple is an excellent pick.

Commonly asked questions from our customers
Frequently Asked
Are your table tops FSC-certified?
Yes. We use FSC-certified wood, which means the lumber comes from forests managed to strict standards for responsible harvesting—protecting ecosystems and supporting ethical forestry practices through a tracked supply chain.
What finish is on the table top?
Each top is finished with a durable hardwax oil. It seals and protects the surface while keeping the wood’s natural grain and tone looking rich and authentic, with a smooth, low-sheen feel.
Is the surface food-safe?
Yes—this table top is finished with a durable hardwax oil that’s appropriate for normal dining use once cured. Use basic common sense: wipe spills promptly and use cutting boards (don’t cut directly on the surface).
How do I clean it?
Use a dry microfiber cloth for dusting. For messes, use a slightly damp cloth (not wet), then wipe dry immediately. Avoid soaking the surface, steam cleaning, abrasive pads, and harsh or ammonia-based cleaners.
Can I use hot mugs or pans on it?
Use coasters/trivets. The finish is durable, but direct heat can still mark or dull the surface over time.
Will the color/grain look exactly like the photos?
No—wood varies naturally. You’ll get the same species and overall look, but every top has its own grain pattern and color variation.
Will the top warp or move over time?
Wood can move slightly with humidity and temperature changes. Keep it in a stable indoor environment, avoid direct heat sources, and don’t store it leaning against a wall long-term. If these conditions are maintained, your table top will not warp.
Do you offer custom sizes or special requests?
Yes—custom sizes and specs are possible depending on the wood and shape. Contact us with the size, shape, and any edge/finish preferences.
We also offer custom epoxy work on our table tops.
What bases will this work with?
Most standard pedestal bases and leg sets work well. Make sure your base is rated for the top’s size/weight and provides enough support for the shape you choose.
How do I attach the table top to my base?
Use the mounting method recommended by your base manufacturer (typically brackets/plates). Pre-drilling is recommended to prevent splitting. If you’re unsure, ask, and we’ll point you to the right approach.
Does it come with pre-drilled holes?
Typically, no, so you can position your base exactly where you want it. If you need holes or inserts, request them at checkout or message us.
Can this be used outdoors?
These are intended for indoor use. Covered outdoor use may be possible short-term, but moisture and temperature swings can damage solid wood and finishes.
How are these shipped?
Smaller sizes ship securely packaged. Larger sizes ship in a custom wooden pine crate to help ensure it arrives in perfect condition, delivered straight to your door.
What if my top arrives damaged?
Contact us right away with photos of the packaging and the damage. We’ll make it right.
